Abstract

1,212,761. Railway vehicle automatic couplers. GERMANY, MINISTER OF TRANSPORT, MINISTER & GENERAL DIRECTOR OF THE REICHSBAHN. 28 Feb., 1968, No. 9697/68. Addition to 1,152,941. Heading B7T. An automatic railway vehicle coupler described and claimed in Specification 1,152,941 is modified in that the single locking or release lever is replaced by separate locking and release levers 90, 96, respectively, these levers being mounted on a common pivot 85, the lever 90 having an arm 91 which during coupling rests on a locking projection 36 of the lock support 32 and does not transmit its movement to the release lever, but during uncoupling the release lever pivots the locking lever out of its blocking positions on the projection 36 and swings the coupling lock in the coupling head. During uncoupling, movement of the release lever is transmitted to the locking lever by contact of faces 94, 98. A cam surface 101 on the release lever applies itself to the coupling lock during uncoupling to move the lock to its uncoupling position, the movement of the lock also being assisted by contact of surface 100 of the lever 96 with a release lever stop 88 of a roller body 82 on the lock. A spring mounted on an indicator 18 assists the coupling lock to return to its locking position after uncoupling. Coupling lock 81 is provided with an elongate hole 83 by means of which it pivots about pin 49.
