A collapsible bedspread holder comprises an anchoring member 10 adapted to be inserted between the mattress 18 and springs 27 of a bed, a bedspread holding member 11 hinged to member 10 at 20, and a leg member 12 hinged to member 11 at 35. Members 10, 11, 12 may comprise rigid rod or wire frameworks of metal, plastics or wood, member 11 having cross-members (25) Fig. 1 (not shown). When not in use, member 11 is vertical and leg member 12 is folded under the bed Fig. 3 (not shown). Holder member 11 may comprise hollow front and rear frame members (24<SP>1</SP>, 21<SP>1</SP>) Fig. 7 (not shown) that telescopically receive bent ends of the frame sides, and wire mesh or woven plastics strips (36). For twin beds, two or more such holder members may be connected by at least one side rod (37) Fig. 8 (not shown) with cross-pieces (38, 39) fitting into the hollow frame members. The holder may be used as a luggage rack.
