A foldable frame having hinge connections 20. for retaining the frame sections at the relative inclinations to which they are adjusted, is dismountable into two articulated parts 4a, 6a, 8a and four cross pieces 6b, 8b and 12. The spigot and socket joints 16, 18 may be provided with spring urged locking pins (26) or formed with bayonet locking means (54, 56, Fig. 8, not shown). The end sections are enclosed in pockets in a removable cover, which is stretched between them.
