[Also in Division F4] An air conditioning apparatus comprises a plurality of units releasably connected together end to end by circular apertured end plates so that adjacent units can be rotated relative to one another about an axis normal to the end plates to alter the position of unit inlets and outlets. In the form shown, the apparatus includes a fresh and recirculation air mixing unit 36, filtering units 34, 38, cooling units 32, 40 and air discharge fan units 30, 42. Heating, humidifying and de-humidifying units may also be provided. Each unit inlet and outlet may be provided with adjustable dampers and the relative proportions of air discharged through units 30, 42 may be controlled by a device in mixing unit 36. The unit end plates 44 are connected by straps or clamps. Each unit may have a cylindrical or rectangular outer casing. In another embodiment, air is drawn through mixing, filtering and heating units, and cooling, humidifying and de-humidifying units may also be provided. Air may be blown instead of drawn through the units.
