Abstract

1,248,859. Knitting-machines. E. MAYER [trading as MAYER & CIE], 28 Nov., 1969 [4 Dec., 1968], No. 58275/69. Heading DIC. A pattern attachment for a circular multifeed -knitting machine comprises an impulse-actuated direct current electro magnet 18 which is retained in either of its end positions when no current flows by means of a leaf spring which takes either the position 26 or position 26/2. As shown an electromagnet 18 is connected by an adjustable link 23 to a control lever 24 which is rotatable about an axis 25. A peg 28 on arm 241 of lever 24 engages in a slot in a pattern lever 30 which can thus be moved radially of the needle cylinder to engage and select tiltable jacks in the needle cylinder. The leaf spring engages a notch in lever 24 and has a snap action between its two positions. Several levers and springs are mounted one above the other on the axes 25, 27 and the unit which is provided for each knitting station is adjustably mounted and the electromagnets have adjustable strokes.
