Abstract

1436607 Knitting machines PRECISION FUKUHARA WORKS Ltd 16 Oct 1973 [23 Feb 1973] 48065/73 Heading D1C A circular knitting machine comprises selector jacks 5 which are selected to control the raising of the corresponding needles by cams 14 movable between a first level (Fig. 3) in which they engage jack butts 36 and pivot the jacks and a second level (Fig. 1) in which they do not affect the jacks, the jacks being adapted on selection by the cams to pivot the latter from their first level to their second level. The cams 14 are mounted on levers 13 which are normally held at the second level by the engagement of permanent magnets 31 on the levers with the cores 28 of fixed electromagnets 27, selective pulsing of the latter overcoming said engagement and allowing the levers to pivot to the first level under the force of springs 37. A permanent magnet 38 prevents vibration of the levers at the second level of the cams.
