Sulphuretted dyes.-A product dyeing cotton reddish-brown shades in alkali sulphide baths is obtained by heating acenaphthene with at least twice its weight of sulphur; in an example, 1 part of acenaphthene is heated with 3¢ parts of sulphur at 250-300‹ C.
