17,123. Bloxam, A. G., [Akt.-Ges. f³r Anilin-Fabrikation]. July 26. Indophenols are obtained from those derivatives of 1:8-diaminonaphthalene in which a heteronuclear ring is found by inclusion of a carbon or nitrogen atom, such as perimidine and its derivatives, dihydrothioperimidone, dihydroperimidone, or 1:8-aziminonaphthalene, by oxidation with p-aminophenol or its derivatives, or by condensation with quinone chlorimide or its derivatives. Products are specified from:- 2-methylperimidine and 2:6-dichlor-p-aminophenol; perimidine or 2-phenylperimidine and quinone chlorimide; dihydrothioperimidone or dihydroperimidone and quinone chlorimide or dichlorquinone chlorimide; 1:8-aziminonaphthalene and dichlorquinonechlorimide. Leucoindophenols are obtained by reducing the above-described indophenols. Sulphuretted dyes are obtained by heating the above-described indophenols or leucoindophenols with alkali polysulphide of high or low percentage of sulphur, in the presence or absence of a solvent or diluent. The products dye cotton in sodium sulphide baths green, olive-green, and blackish-green tints.
