A hinged sliding vehicle door 2 is hinged to a roller carriage 7 guided by supporting rollers 8, 9 in a rail 20 along the outside of the vehicle body work, by means of an arm 5 having at one end an upwardly extending axle 6 pivotally attached to the roller carriage 7 and at the other end a downwardly extending axle 13 pivotally attached to a bearing eyelet 17 mounted in a recess 18 in the. door. The axle 6 carries at its upper end a guide roller 10 and a rigid pivoted arm 11 bearing a second guide roller 12, these running in a check rail 21 having a curved portion 23 at its inner end. The door carries at the bottom a rigid arm 29 carrying two rollers (31, 33) which run in a rail 30 mounted on the body work below the door opening, and may be further supported at the top by a roller (3) running in a rail (Fig. 1, not shown) or at its centre by two rigidly interconnected arms 24, 24' pivoted at one end 25 to the body work and at the other end carrying rollers 26, 26' respectively running in rails (27, 28) located on the inside of the door.
