Abstract

1,244,644. Shelving; joints. MODULAR SYSTEMS Inc. Sept.19, 1968 [Sept.20, 1967], No.44628/68. Headings A4B and A4H. Shelves 16, 18 and a back wall 2 are each provided with recesses 4, 6 in which are secured resilient clips 22 with raised and inclined bifurcations 26 which receive the heads of screws 14 secured to side walls 10, 12 between which the shelves 16, 18 and back wall 2 extend. A wall mounted rail 20a is engaged in a groove 8 extending the full width of the rear wall 2, the ends of the groove 8 being closed by the side walls 10, 12. The rail 20a is shorter than the groove 8 to facilitate lateral, sliding adjustment of the shelf unit or the rail 20a. The unit is locked in its adjusted position on the rail 20a by screws 24a passed through holes 26a in the rear wall 2 and into a bar 22a slidably captive in the rail 20a. Tightening of the screws 24a clamps the bar 22a against inturned flanges of the rail 20a.
