Abstract

1,241,554. Printing apparatus. COURTAULDS Ltd. 27 Nov., 1968 [27 Nov., 1967], No. 53776/67. Heading B6C. A rotary intaglio printing press incorporates a forward-wiping doctor blade 3 with an edge portion 10 which by a permanent bend or set is carried out of the plane of the remainder of the blade. Preferably the edge portion 10 makes an angle of 135 degrees with the main part of the blade 3, and when the blade 3 is mounted with its edge portion either leading or trailing the edge portion meets the circumference of cylinder 1 at right angles. Preferably the blade 3 is of spring steel, and is bent before being tempered.
