Abstract

1,239,921. Laminates of fabric and foamed plastics. LANTOR Ltd. 22 July, 1968 [21 April, 1967], No. 18401/67. Heading B5N. Polyurethane foam to be laminated to a fabric by adhesive or flame bonding is first stitched so that the stitch yarns lie on that side of the foam to be exposed. Plain, chain or tricot stitching, or combinations of such stitching, with or without filling or weft yarns, may be used, and a non-woven web may be secured to the foam by the stitching to form a lining. The stitching yarns and non-woven web are preferably of polyamide, polyester, polyacrylonitrile, polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride but may be of cotton or rayon or in the case of the web, wool. The non-woven web may be impregnated with natural or synthetic rubber or bonded by solvent bonding or needle punching
