Abstract
1,239,481. Spinning yarns. T.M.M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. 14 Jan., 1969 [23 Jan., 1968], No. 3559/68. Heading D1F. In a shortened worsted spinning process, heavy weight roving of at least 3 e.g. 4.4- 6.8, grams/metre is formed from combed wool or synthetic fibre taps by drawing e.g. in two or more stages including gelling and subsequent roller drafting, during or after which the roving is subjected to at least one autolevelling operation to reduce irregularity therein, and subsequently in a ring-spinning machine the roving (perhaps with low twist as may have been imparted by a flyer on take-up) is subjected to a, preferably singlezone, draft of at least 20, possibly up to 250.
