Abstract

1,238,872. Speed and tension control in winding machines. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. 23 Aug., 1968 [25 Aug., 1967], No. 40431/68. Headings DID and D1L. [Also in Divisions B8 and G3] In apparatus winding textile material 1 from a first reel 3 onto a second reel 5 and vice versa in which both reels are centre driven by first and second motors 2 and 4 respectively, each motor is controlled by its own regulator 6, 7. Regulator 6 brings about constant speed of the material and is controlled by a tachometer generator 8. This generator 8 is operated by a roller 9 driven by the material adjacent the circumference of the first reel 3. The second regulator 7 brings about constant tension of the material and is controlled by a dancing roller which consists of two conductor rollers 13 and 14 and a position indicating roller 15 which can be loaded with different weights according to the desired tensile stress in the material. Roller 15 is connected to regulating resistor 12 by an endless chain 16. A change speed gear or a worm gear may be arranged between each motor and the associated reel. The motors are preferably d.c. motors each fed by a motor generator or a static converter.
