Mixing air and gas.-Air is mixed with acetylene or coal or like gas in apparatus comprising a casing a having air-inlet ports a' and a gas nozzle f surrounded by a choke-tube a<3>. The nozzle has several outlets f<2> in its hemispherical top f<1>, and contains at its base a ball valve e, spring-loaded or otherwise, which controls the flow of gas through the pipe c. The mixture is controlled by a throttle valve b.
