Abstract
1,238,108. Washing machines. G. A. BRAUN Inc. 8 Sept., 1969 [12 Nov., 1968], No. 44260/69. Heading D1A. A laundry installation comprises a washing and water extracting machine with an air tight casing 52 and loading and unloading doors 28 and 30 in separate loading and unloading rooms 24 and 26 which are separated by a partition in which' the casing 52 is disposed, at least one of the doors being maintained closed at all times by an interlock, the loading room having an exhaust fan 40 for maintaining sub-atmospheric pressure therein, an air duct 32 connecting the casing with air outside the rooms and port means in the casing opening into the loading room. The port means comprises an air duct 34 which may be capped and a water dump valve 55 which is open except during a washing operation and so open before the un- 'loading door is opened to ensure that the casing is at below atmospheric pressure.
