Abstract

974, 101. Washing machines. D. & J. TULLIS Ltd. Nov. 22, 1960 [Nov. 24,1959], No. 39808/59. Heading D1A. [Also in Division E2] In a washing machine having a perforated basket rotatable within a casing 10, and first and second doors 11, 12 in or adjacent to opposite ends of the casing and giving access to the basket, the doors are provided with interlocking means preventing opening of one unless the other is closed. The machine may project through a wall 13 so that loading of infected articles and unloading take place in separate rooms. In Fig. 1, (not shown) the unloading door is in the end of the casing. Electrical switches stop the machine if either door is opened while the machine is in operation.
