An open work tray 16 is attached to the lower edge of a door 11 of a tumbler drier and extends into the housing 13 through a slot 15 below the drum 14. The edge 16a of the tray remote from the door may be curved to allow the tray 16 to move through the slot 15 or the tray may be quadrant shaped and a stop 17 provided to limit outward movement of the tray.
