Abstract

1,237,374. Pneumatic conveyers. SIMPLEX OF CAMBRIDGE Ltd. 1 July, 1968 [30 June, 1967], No. 30432/67. Heading B8A. The floor 6 of a silo is formed of corrugated sheets of galvanized metal or aluminium having strips of louvred slots 6a along the grooves 6b which are directed towards the outlet 5. A fan is provided to blow air along a duct 3 and either through valves 8 into the space beneath the floor or through a valve 4 into a central drying cylinder 2 of expanded metal. An auxiliary flat sheet of metal 6c formed with louvres is provided at each side of the outlet 5. In a further embodiment, Figs. 5, 6 (not shown), the floor of a barn consists of horizontal parallel strips, formed with louvred apertures and separated by strips of metal forming ridges, the parallel strips extending to a transverse outlet conveyer.
