Abstract

1,236,594. Disinfectants emulsified with soaps. ASPRO-NICHOLAS Ltd. 4 March, 1969 [9 March, 1968], No. 11628/68. Heading A5E. [Also in Division C5] Disinfectants comprise essential oils, terpenes, terpene alcohols, phenols and halogenated xylenols and as an emulsifier therefor a mixture of soaps of castor oil and a fatty acid component, in the ratio by weight of 75:25-25:75, the said fatty acid component comprising up to 100% by weight of a mixture of oleic and inoleic acids in a ratio of 5:95-95:5, 0-15% by weight of other fatty acids, and 0-50% by weight of rosin acids. The fatty acid component is preferably obtained from tall oils and soya bean oils. In comparative examples parachlorometaxylenol and pine oil are emulsified separately by sodium soap derived from castor oil and the sodium soap derived from tall oil.
