Abstract

[Also in Divisions E1-E2] A frame assembly for supporting flat panels includes a structure 1 comprising a base 2, two spaced frames 3 each of inverted V-shape in vertical cross-section, each frame being mounted on the base and each being formed of two oppositely inclined frame members 4, and a number of struts 5 interconnecting the frame members, the assembly further including clamping means comprising at least two slotted bars 9 each securable towards one end to any one of the struts, abutment means 13 adapted in use to abut faces of the panels, and a wedge 12 locatable in each slotted bar and adapted to abut a said abutment means whereby the slotted bar is clampable to a said panel. As shown beams 8 are attached to the struts 5. Each of the beams 8 is preferably faced with cork or other resilient material. Parts of the base protrude beyond the lower ends of the frames and inclined platforms 6 are disposed on the protruding parts on each of which a said panel can be supported during use of the frame assembly. The end portion of each bar 9 is hooked to engage any desired strut 5. The panels shown are made of bricks and the assembly is used for transporting the panels to a construction site.
