Abstract

1,233,709. Ventilators. TENON CONTRACTS Ltd. 18 Aug., 1969 [18 May, 1968], No. 23771/68. Heading F4V. A ventilator for windows comprises upper and lower frame members 10A, 11A which are separated by spacer blocks 58 to form spaced air inlets, each independently controlled by a corresponding pivoted flap 13, 14 which is gravitationally maintained in its open and closed positions since the centre of gravity of the flap rotates about the pivot axis as the flap is rotated. The ventilator is mounted above a window frame, or above or, as shown, between window panes 71, 80 within a window frame. Co-operating magnets 23 help to hold the flaps in their closed positions. The ventilator components are extruded from aluminium or an aluminium alloy. Mesh filters of expanded aluminium are provided at the outer side of the ventilator.
