A terminal block for connecting wires I and II comprises an insulating body 1, two screw terminals 2, 3 having stirrups 4 with parallel walls, and a common conductive bar 8 providing series electrical connection. Bent portions 9 of the bar are adapted to be guided by the walls of the corresponding stirrups in order to prevent the sleeve terminals tending to tilt when a wire conductor which is inserted and clamped is away from the clamping screw axis. The bent portions 9 include further portions 10 adapted to engage in corresponding recesses in the insulating body 1. Formations 6 may be provided to guide the entry of conductor wires I, II which are clamped to the terminal block by means of screws 5.
