Abstract

1,230,226. Hydraulic intensifiers: hydraulic reciprocating motor driving pump. P. HAMMELMANN [trading as PAUL HAMMELMANN MASCHINENFABRIK]. Dec. 24, 1968 [Jan.2, 1968], No. 61496/68. Headings F1A and FIP. An apparatus for supplying liquid at differing pressures comprises a pump 1 delivering through a valve 5 directly to a utilization outlet 8, or alternatively to a pipe 6, 12 leading to a pressure intensifier 7, Fig. 3, where the pump output is used to intensify the pressure of liquid supplied either from the pump delivery via a valve 10 and line 11, or from the pump inlet through a non- return valve 17. The output from the intensifier is supplied to a second utilization outlet 7a, its pressure being dependent on whether it receives liquid from the pump inlet or delivery. The intensifier 7 comprises an annular piston 02 automatically reciprocable in a housing 01 by liquid alternately supplied through lines 13, 14. Intensifier pistons 05 are carried by the annular piston 02 and are reciprocated thereby in cylinders 06, 07. Pressurization of the lines 13, 14 is controlled by a reversing spool valve 017 constantly urged to the left by pump pressure acting on its small right hand end 018 and movable to the right each time its large left hand end 016 is connected to the pump pressure by a valve rod 015. The rod 015 connects the end 016 to exhaust or to pressure and is changed over each time the piston 02 completes a stroke and displaces a pin 09 or 08 acting through levers 011, 012 on opposite ends of the rod.
