Abstract

1,226,134. Foundation garments. PILOT RESEARCH CORP. 21 June, 1968 [6 July, 1967], No. 29830/68. Heading A3V. [Also in Divisions D1-2] A form-fitting seamless garment to cover at least the lower torso of the wearer includes partial courses to give fulness over the buttocks covering area. The garment may include breast pockets of the type disclosed in Specification 1,213,591 and or a crotch patch joining opposite sides of the lower end. Pairs of partial courses, knit by reciprocation, follow groups of full courses, e.g. 8 courses. Alternate pairs of partial courses extend half, and threequarters of the way around the garment. The bottom of the garment may have a turned welt; the waist may be gathered by holding loops for several courses on alternate needles at intervals. Varying support may be provided by inelastic or varying stretch portions.
