Abstract
1,225,639. Ventilators. TITUS MFG. CORP. 30 May, 1968, No. 25971/68. Heading F4V. A ceiling slot diffuser comprises elongated side walls 16, 17, defining a downwardly opening slot and separated by H-shaped spacers, and an adjustable air flow regulator removably supported between adjacent spacers by a clip 38 mounted at each end of the regulator and releasably engaging the respective adjacent spacer. In the form shown, the regulator includes a bar 36 which is coplanar with vertical bars 31 formed on the cross-bars of the spacers and each clip includes an inverted U-shaped portion 39 riveted to the bar 36 and arms 41, 42 embracing the adjacent bar 31. The arms 41, 42 rest on the spacer cross-bar and have resilient portions engaging grooves formed at the top of side walls 16, 17. In another embodiment, the arms 41, 42 are replaced by an inverted U-shaped portion resting on the bar 31 and having barbs contacting the opposite sides thereof. One or, as shown, two manually adjustable vanes 66, 67 are removably held in grooves in the regulator by spring clips 59 spaced along the bar 36. Inactive sections of the diffuser may be blanked off by plates or by the vanes 66, 67. The diffuser is mounted in a main ceiling or suspended therefrom to form part of a false ceiling and is connected to a main air supply duct by a manifold and a flexible duct.
