Abstract

1,223,624. Cellular polyurethane-ureas. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. 6 Nov., 1968 [6 Nov., 1967], No. 52582/68. Headings C3C and C3R. [Also in Division B2] A storage stable, one-pack composition suitable for forming polyurethane-urea cellular materials comprises a liquid isocyanate terminated polyether or polyester prepolymer having dispersed therein a substantially stoichiometric equivalent amount of an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic diamine carbamate. On heating the free diamine is released from the carbamate with the simultaneous production of carbon dioxide which foams the reaction mixture. Preferred carbamates are those derived from ethylene diamine, hexamethylene diamine, decamethylenediamine, a diaminocyclohexane or p,p<SP>1</SP>-diaminodicyclohexylmethane. Volatile liquids, silicone surfactants and pigments may be added to the composition.
