Abstract
1,223,083. Bucket elevators for unloading ships; endless conveyers. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. 28 May, 1969 [31 May, 1968], No. 27013/69. Headings B8A and B8E. Bulk cargo is continuously unloaded from a vessel 6, Fig. 1, by a bucket elevator 5 which is supported by resiliently mounted drums 9, 10, Fig. 2, so that upward movement of the ship causes corresponding movement of the bottom of the elevator. The drums 9, 10 are attached to a frame 7 by hydraulic rams 13, 15, 14, 16, which are adjusted to be compressed by a predetermined upward force. The member 7 is supported by a trolley 4, Fig. 1, which runs on a device 3. The latter is pivoted at its inner end and supported by a gantry 2 at its outer end.
