A discharging device for a ship includes an endless bucket conveyer 2 and rotary buckets 9 which are carried by frame 1 supported by the hook of a crane. The buckets 5 carried by belt 2 are guided through the centre of bucket wheel 9 by rollers 7 carried by guide 6. The frame 1 also carries hopper 10. Bucket wheel 9 is carried by rollers 8 and gathers material from the ship and feeds it into hopper 10 which feeds the material into the buckets 5 of belt 2, for discharge.
