Abstract

1283682 Loading and unloading ships; endless conveyers POHLIG-HECKEL-BLEICHERT VEREINIGTE MASCHINENFABRIKEN AG 22 Jan 1970 3236/70 Headings B8A and B8E A bucket elevator is mounted on a frame 17 so as to be able to swing in two mutually perpendicular vertical planes. This enables it to discharge material from the hold of a ship and feed to a conveyer 25. The elevator pivots about bearings 4<SP>1</SP>, 4<SP>11</SP> under the action of a fluid strut 14. Chains carrying buckets 5 are driven from drive-shafts 11<SP>1</SP>, 11<SP>11</SP>, 8<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>11</SP>, journalled at 7<SP>1</SP>, 7<SP>11</SP>. The chains are guided over sprockets 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>11</SP>, at their lower ends. The buckets discharge into a shoot 12 which feeds a conveyer belt 13. This feeds a belt 23 which is slidable on a gantry 21 and feeds belts 24 and 25. A frame 6 carrying the elevator, is pivotally mounted at 15 to the frame 17 of the conveyer 23, and may be tilted by the action of a fluid strut 16. A further strut 22 controls the attitude of the conveyer 17.
