Abstract

1,223,067. Hollow charge projectile. WERKZEUGMASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKONBUHRLE A.G. 14 Aug., 1969 [22 Aug., 1968], No. 40798/69. Heading F3A Hollow charge projectile includes a detonator carried in a casing 13, 14 which in unarmed position as shown is positioned partly within the hollow charge, and is movable outwardly of a head 10 to armed position by a spring 28. This spring is of a truncated conical form wherein the diameters of consecutive coils differ by at least twice the wire diameter so that the coils can assume a nested or reversed condition. As shown, a safety bolt 25 is set back when released from a guide wall 26. A headed detonator pin 19 has a shank 20 normally restrained at one end by a shoulder 21 of the casing part 13 and at the other end by a thin sheet disc 18.
