Abstract
1,221,546. 546. Martensitic steel. A. P. V. PARAMOUNT Ltd. July 2, 1969 [July 9, 1968], No.32678/68. Addition to 1, 049, 864. Heading C7A. A martensitic steel casting which after annealing contains no more than 50% austenite consists, by weight per cent of:- C 0À03 - 0À1 Si 0 - 1 Mn 0 - 1.5 Ni 2.5 - 6.5 Cr 12À5 - 17 Mo 1 - 3 Cu 0 - 0.48 S 0 - 0.05 P 0 - 0À05 Nb 0 - 0.5 Fe and any impurities - balance. Heat treatment may be effected as follows: - Solution annealing at 1000‹ - 1050‹ C. for 2 hours/inch section (2 hours minimum); air cooling; tempering at 540‹ - 620‹ C. for 2 hours/ inch section (2 hours minimum); and air cooling.
