Abstract

122,114. Ekblom, E. May 21, 1918. Fenders.-Detachable skids 1 are attached to the side of a boat to facilitate lowering down a ship's side by inserting their lower ends in socke'ts, loops or the like 7 on the bottom of the boat and by securing their upper ends by bolts 4 or the like. The skids may be made of half round irons held on wooden blocks 2 by screws. Compressible packings 3 may be placed between the skids and the boat's side.
