Buoys.-An air-tight metal tank a is protected at its ends by boards b, and at the sides, top, and bottom by spaced wooden laths c; at each end, a life-line e is attached to two eyes d, and a metal clip f is provided on the top protective coverings for attaching the device to a hook, &c., so that it may be readily detached or may float off the deck of a sinking vessel.
