Abstract

1,218,504. Petrol pumps. KIENZLE APPARATE G.m.b.H. 16 April, 1969 [20 April, 1968], No. 19470/69. Heading G4D. The power for resetting the counters of a petrol pump is obtained by stretching a spring when the dispensing hose is hung up. Depression of arm 11 of a composite lever 5 stretches spring 10. A notch on spring-pressed lever 30 engages behind pin 31 on plate 22 which pushes bar 33 to the left, whereby bar 48 disengages projection 43 so that lever 42 cams roller 57 downwards to switch off the pump motor via levers 59, 62, 35. At the same time pin 52 disengages pawl 15 from teeth 14 to allow toothed segment 9 to rotate pinion 8, without having any effect on disc 7, however, because of a one-way drive 16, 8a. Preparatory to the next dispensing operation the dispensing hose is lifted. Spring 10 now drives the composite lever 5 counter-clockwise. Lever 30 swings control plate 22 so that its nose 23 disengages from a slot 20 in the rim of disc 7. Gear sector 9 now drives pinion 8 and disc 7 through 180 degrees, operating slide 25 to set the registers to zero in known manner via arms 27, 29. At this time roller 57 is allowed by cam lever 42 to swing upwards to ,reclose the pump motor switch. Also the nose 23 of control plate 22 falls into the opposite slot 20 on disc 7 so that the control parts resume original positions.
