Abstract

1,213,661. Ignition systems. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. Dec.21, 1967 [Jan.23, 1967], No.3329/67. Heading F1B. In an ignition system a semi-conductor switch 26 is turned off each time the contact breaker closes and each time the contact breaker opens. As shown the semi-conductor switch 26 is a transistor. The circuit includes a second transistor. The contact breaker 15 when driven to one condition (either open or closed) serves to divert the collector emitter current of the second transistor momentarily to turn the first transistor off and the contact breaker when driven to its other condition (either closed or open) serves to divert base current momentarily from the second transistor to turn both transistors off.
