Abstract
1402688 Ignition systems ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 23 Aug 1973 [29 Aug 1972] 39970/73 Heading F1B An ignition system for an internal combustion engine includes an ignition armature 12 which co-operates with a rotating magnet system 11 driven by the engine, the winding of the ignition armature being connected to a circuit in which a switching path of an ignition transistor 16 is located, the circuit forming the primary circuit of the ignition armature whose secondary circuit 13b is connected to at least one spark-plug 15. The base of the ignition transistor is connected to a control circuit which changes the ignition transistor from its conductive state to its non- conductive state at the instant of ignition and at least one diode 17, 18 is connected in series with the switching path of the ignition transistor 16, that terminal of the diode not connected to the switching path of the ignition transistor being connected to the base of the ignition transistor by way of a resistor 19. In a modification, (not shown), a second transistor is associated with the ignition transistor to form a Darlington pair and a further transistor is located in a control circuit which is connected to the Darlington pair and a Zener diode is connected to the base of the further transistor.
