Sheets are separated and fed a predetermined distance from the top of a stack 7 by friction rollers 5 on a shaft 6 carried by two pivoted arms 4 1 the rollers being rotated from a shaft 2 carrying one of the arms 41 and when the stack diminishes in height and the arms descend, the increased pressure on the stack due to increased moment about the pivot of gravitational force is compensated by a spring 15 attached to a slide 13 engaged by an extension 12 of one of the arms 4.
