Abstract

1,242,755. Sheet-feeding. RICOH K.K. 6 Sept., 1968 [20 Sept., 1967], No. 42459/68. Heading B8R. Cards or sheets are separated from a stack 2, Fig. 1, by means of a driven roller 1, and are subsequently fed to further apparatus by means of driven rollers 8, 9, roller 8 co-operating with a counterpressure roller 11 so that no slip occurs therebetween, and roller 9 co-operating with a spring 13, so that slipping can occur and thence by means of feed rollers 18, 19 which are either rotated intermittently or at different peripheral speeds from the preceding rollers. Rollers 8 and 9 are both driven by gear-wheel 6 fixed to motor-driven shaft 7, and roller 1 is driven through clutch 17, pulley 16, and belt 15 trained around shaft 7. The clutch 17 is only engaged when both micro-switches 14, 20 are closed indicating that no card or sheet is in contact with either (Fig. 2, not shown). An auxiliary separating roller 4, and a further feed roller 18a may also be incorporated in the apparatus which usually feeds to reading, punching or printing devices.
