Abstract

1413314 Feeding and delivering sheets ADDRESSOGRAPH MULTIGRAPH CORP 21 Nov 1972 [22 Nov 1971] 53992/72 Heading B8R [Also in Division G2] The subject-matter of this Specification is identical with part of that described in Specification 1,413,313, but the claims are concerned with a document feed mechanism. Sheets 26 are fed successively from a pile (by a device 64, Fig. 1) to the nip between rollers 68 and 70 and pass between a V-shaped deflector 76 and a plurality of endless belts 72 (in grooves in rollers 68 and 74) to the nip between rollers 24 and 74 whence they are guided by fingers 78 (Fig. 2) and pass between an endless belt 20 (passing round rollers 22 and 24) and a platen 14 to a stop position adjacent a pivoted gate assembly 48. The endless belt 20 is of "Mylar" (Registered Trade Mark) and has a plurality of longitudinal ridges (28, Fig. 7) of silicone rubber. The gate assembly 48 (Fig. 4) comprises a base member (54) of steel-like material to which is attached a strip (56) of resilient material and is pivotable about the axis of roller 22. Rollers 68, 70 and 74 are driven in synchronism with roller 24.
