Abstract

1457117 Feeding sheets CANON KK 13 Dec 1973 [15 Dec 1972] 57788/73 Heading B8R Sheets P are separated from a pile by a suction roller 2 which moves down on to the pile to feed the top sheet into a copying machine, the pile being supported in a cassette C. Separate sheets can alternatively be fed by the roller 2, each such sheet being placed manually on the lid C1 of the cassette or on a separate guide plate, said lid on plate being provided with alignment marks by means of which sheets of various sizes can be correctly positioned. The printed sheets are delivered into a tray 11 and can be re-inserted for printing on the opposite side by placing in the requisite position on the lid or plate. The sheets may alternatively be fed by a conveyer belt passing over the feed roller and over a further roller. The lid or guide plate is provided with instructions as to the required orientation of the separate sheets, and is visible when in its operating position.
