Abstract

1372265 Feeding sheets FUJI SHASHIN KOKI KK 21 Dec 1971 [21 Dec 1970] 59514/71 Heading B8R A sheet separating device, e.g. in a copying or printing machine, comprises a container 30 for receiving a pile of sheets e and having an abutment 30 1 for engaging one edge of the pile, a resilient means, e.g. a blade 29, for engaging the top surface of the topmost sheet of the pile and a roller 31 for engaging said surface and being rotatable in one sense, e.g. opposite to arrow g, to buckle to topmost sheet against the abutment 30 1 and free the sheet from the resilient means, and in the opposite sense g to feed the sheet over the resilient means, e.g. to a movable front register stop and pinch rollers (not shown). The container may be spring urged towards the roller. The drive to the roller may be via a solenoid operated gear-box and magnetic clutch arrangement.
