Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title detector of low cost capable of detecting the existence/ non-existence of printing paper void of unnecessary waste of printing paper at a mechanism wherein a notch is provided on the guide member for printing paper being fed out from platen, and a detector attached at the detection arm tip protrudes and engages with the said notch.
CONSTITUTION: Printing paper 1 is rolled by the platen 7, the forward edge thereof reaches the print-start position, and is pressed by the paper-bail 10. At the position as mentioned above, on the guide member 13 being covered by the printing paper 1, notch 16 is provided on the guide member 13, while the detector 17 is provided in the detector 17 is provided in the manner that its detection tip faces against the notch 16. Under the situation wherein the paper 1 is normally fed, it covers the notch 16 which releases the exciter of magnet 11 for moving the paper bail 10. At the same time, control magnet 21 is released under a constant timing which intercepts the detection tip 18 of the detecting arm 19 from reaching the detector 17 by the existence of the paper 1 inbetween, accordingly the detector does not actuate.
