Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent printing paper printed at its back surface from being fed to the reverse direction, by detecting a register detecting mark or marginal space of printing paper at the position to be detected photoelectrically, in synchronism with intermittent register marking motion by means of photoelectric detectors.
CONSTITUTION: Retainer plate 2 is lowered onto printing paper 11 which is carried on feeder board 3 of paper feeding section and has come into stopper 7, and left- side position of the printing paper is determined by register marking roller 12. Through detection of detecting mark 6 printed on the back of printing paper by photoelectric detecting means 4, 5 of a marking means located on side A in the drawing , it is confirmed that orientation of printing paper 11 is correct, while printing operation stopping signal from light receiving means 4 is kept OFF. In case that orientation of printing paper 11 is reverse, on the other hand, detecting mark 6 is not detected by detectors 4, 5 of the register marking means located on side A since the detecting mark is located on the side of marking means B on the opposite side of photoelectric detecting means 4, 5 of marking means A, so that printing operation stopping signal is turned ON to stop operation of the paper feeding section of the printer.
