Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a printing to be applied to unstandardized papers or solids bodies such as books, by a construction wherein a printing is carried out on a surface to be printed with the feeding of an ink sheet and the drive of a heat generation part in synchronization with the rotation of a scan roller. CONSTITUTION:A printer is held by hand to be traveled in a scanning direction with a scan roller 6 abutted on a surface to be printed and, thereby, the scan roller 6 is rotated. At this time, a heat generation part 2 is pressed down against the surface to be printed with a predetermined pressure because it is pressed down to the position of the scan roller 6. According to the rotation of the scan roller 6, a detection signal is outputted from a rotation detecting sensor 9. As a projecting part 15 is traveled by being pressed, a detection signal is outputted from a position detecting sensor 22. With both the detection signals, a drive circuit 3 outputs a drive signal for one line to the heat generation part 2 to heat a heating element. On the other hand, the heat generation part 2 is constantly abutted against the surface to be printed with a proper pressing force of a spring member 20. In this manner, an ink of an ink sheet is properly transferred to the surface to be printed due to the heat of the heating element.
