Abstract

PURPOSE:To record the arbitrary position of an original in colors differing from those of other position irrespectively of the colors of the image information expressed on the original by determining the recording colors in accordance with the position information with respect to the subscanning direction of the original. CONSTITUTION:An image information read part cosists of an illuminating lamp 12 for a slender read part of an original on a platen 11, an image sensor 15 and a photocoupler 16, and detects the mark for position information with respect to the subscanning direction of the orginal, thereby determining colors. In a multicolor recording part, thermal heads 21D, 22D make printing on recording paper 19 in the selected prescribed colors in accordance with the detection signal. The heads 21D, 22D contact ink donor sheets 21C, 22C and transfer the inks on the sheets 21C, 22C onto the paper 19 by the effect of heat.
