Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent undesirable pressure marks from being formed on a pressure-sensitive manifold paper, by detecting a moving amount of an arm for transmitting a motion of a tension roller, and adjusting the position of a printing head relative to a platen according to the moving amount being detected. CONSTITUTION:A paper 5 is fed in the direction of an arrow A by being clamped between a feeding roller 1 and a tension roller 2. When the tension roller is moved in the direction of an arrow B by an amount corresponding to the thickness of the paper, a detector 4 engaged with an arm 3 detects the moving amount of the tension roller. The amount is transmitted to an analog converter 5, from which a driving signal is transmitted to a driving circuit 6. In response to the signal, the driving circuit 6 operates to move a printing head 7 in the direction of an arrow C to secure an appropriate gap.
