Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a label printer which allows ceaseless operation of a machine even when encounting missing label somewhere in a mount while eliminating positional adjustment of a detection section irrelevant to the size of labels by equipped with a label detecting section, a counter for counting the length of the label, a arithmetic control section and the like. CONSTITUTION:While a label 1 pasted on a mount 2 is being delivered with a stepping motor, the passage of the label 1 is detected with a detection section 3 and based on a detection signal of the detecting section, a counter section 9 counts the number of pulses corresponding to the length l thereof in the advancing direction. Based on the counted value, an arithmetic control section 6 controls the number of pulses to be fed to the stepping motor while controlling the operation of a printing mechanism 4. When any blank label is detected with a detecting section 4, the arithmetic control section 6 feeds pulses in the number controlled based on the number of pulses counted by the counter section to perform a blank label feeding while controlling the printing mechanism. Thus, a blank printing is done on the blank label.
