Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the skew traveling by obtaining a constant pressure over the whole width of a paper sheet by allowing the spring pressure of a spring mechanism for pressing rollers which is installed at the both edges of two rollers for paper feed to be adjusted and controlling the spring pressure by detecting the dimension in the paper width direction. CONSTITUTION:A paper sheet 10 is nipped between the rollers 1 and 2 and transported by the drive of the driving roller 1. The both rollers 1 and 2 are pressed by the spring mechanisms 8 and 9 installed at the both edges of a trailing roller 2. The springy pressure of one spring mechanism 9 can be adjusted by an actuator A. The width W of the paper 10 is detected by a detecting means S, and the detection signal is inputted into a control circuit 14 for the actuator A. The spring pressure of the spring 9 is controlled so as to be reduced as the paper width W reduces on one side, and the spring pressure on the opposite side close to the trailing roller 2 reduces, and the load acting onto the opposite edge close to the paper sheet is reduced, and the frictional force which the paper sheet 10 receives is made uniform, and skew traveling is prevented.
