Abstract

1349295 Feeding and delivering sheets KIENZLE APPARATE GmbH 12 Oct 1971 [14 Oct 1970] 47529/71 Heading B8R A device for feeding documents to a printing station 9 and aligning them at said station comprises a magazine 13 from which the documents are separated from a pile 17, means being provided for the mutual adjustment of the extent of an outlet opening of the magazine, which is adjustable in accordance with the thickness of the documents, e.g. by an adjustable knife 16, and of an adjustable stop 35 for aligning a lateral edge of each document. The device is especially adapted to handle two sorts of document, one sort comprising single sheets of a certain width, the other comprising a plurality of attached sheets of a greater width, a single handle (39), Fig. 4 (not shown), being manually operable to change the position of both the knife 16 and the stop 35 from one set position to another, for handling one or the other sort of document. Feeding sheets.-The document pile 17 is urged by springs 18 against a roller 19, an endless belt 29 and associated rollers not shown, on shaft 33 being lowered to engage and separate the topmost sheet which passes through the magazine outlet and is fed via belt 29 and roller 34 to guides 10, 12 and against front stops 11 where a side stop pushes it into register against the side stop 35. Delivering sheets.-The documents are fed via rollers 37, 30 and belt 29 to the bottom of a stack in a receptacle 24 with the aid of guides 27, 28.
